Every ECISD campus has at least one full-time school counselor, with the exception of Blanton, Burleson, Cameron, Sam Houston, and Milam.
Mission Statement
ECISD counselors will provide a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program that provides a delivery of prevention, intervention and support services that enable all ECISD students to become productive and successful learners in our schools and in our communities.
We are dedicated to providing students, parents and staff with a comprehensive Guidance and Counseling program, as required by the Texas Legislature. We provide all four components of the Guidance and Counseling program:
Guidance Curriculum to teach students socio-emotional skills assisting all students in reaching their full potentials.
Responsive Services to provide school-wide prevention and counseling services for individuals and groups of students who are in need of immediate services.
Individual Planning to assist students to plan, monitor and manage the student's education, career, personal and social development and academic success. Four-year plans are implemented in the 8th grade and updated each year during educational planning.
System Support to support the guidance program and to support the efforts of staff, parents, students and community members in promoting the development of the whole student including education, career, personal and social development.
Professional School Counselors hold a Masters Degree in educational counseling or a related field and certification from the State Board of Education. All school counselors have a minimum of two years classroom teaching experience.
If a parent/guardian has any questions regarding the counselor or counseling services, please call the campus school counselor or the Guidance and Counseling Department.
